An employee in my company become Senior Citizen for the month December 2011. And he already paid Profession Tax 2500/- in may 2011 for the year 2011-12. Can he avail deduction from salary u/s 16(III) tax on employment.

Is there any provision in IT Act, prohibiting professional tax deduction U/s 16(iii) for a senior citizen?
