Debtors/creditors w/off/back

05 December 2015 Dear All

If a company
1. Writes back one of the creditor
2. writes off credit balance showing in debtor account.

Will both these cases be covered under service tax. As this is company's income and the same is not covered under negative list of service tax. Can anybody please explain the same?

11 December 2015 What is a service?

any activity for consideration carried out by a person for another and includes declared service.

Your event does not fall into the ambit of service per say

So NO Service tax would be charges
