what is the meaning of dearness allowance included in salary for retirement benefits?

Dearness allowance which is considered along with basic for calculation of PF,ESI and EL kind of calculation.

generally PF & Gratuity like retirement benefits calculations will be based on employee basic salary only. but if that calculation we consider basic plus dearness allowance then that DA can be called as DA included as retirement benefits
