dates of filling annual returns

hi cci to all experts!!!!!!!!!! plz tell me that the dates specified by MCA of filling of returns are mandatory in nature or thes are only recommendations...........means can we file a return of a company whose name starts from say 'A' after 5th of oct.

It is 100% in the nature of recommendation as ROC can not ask for anything which is beyond company law.
