05 June 2010 Pls tell me can i charge Excise Duty in Credit Note (credit note of rate diff.)& take credit of the Credit note.

05 June 2010 As per cenvat credit rules 2004, Cenvat credit can be taken based on duty paying document(invoice or supplementary invoice). Mere on credit note u cannt take the credit of excise duty.

05 June 2010 benefit of cenvat credit can be taken on Invoice or supplementry invoice. On credit note u cann't take cenvat credit.
