26 January 2010 I am appearing for CA final old course in May 2010.I have given earlier also but not able to clear.I had joined classes wayback and its not possible for me to join now.Pls let me know how is the book by Paduka on costing as iread its good,but i have not yet gone thru it.Pls help me as i will be doing self study and want to clear this exam.

U can solve Padukas , But do theory of costing very well and study institute modules

Institute's modules are good one for theory concepts.

The mistake committed by the students is that they solve too much numericals leaving theory concepts raw.

Till the concepts are clear; Costing is a tough subject.

Firstly; try to understand the importance of the subject.

If there is increase in cost by paise 50 only per unit; you may be out from the market !

Imagine as if you are running an industrial unit by investment of Rs.15 crores !

Now you will focus your attention towards so many items - optimum utilization of raw materials, labour and cost controls.

Since money is invested by you; you will have interest in the business. You would be more cautious in initial years towards Break Even.

So read the subject like this....
