Conveyance allowance and car expenses reimbursement

Our company is paying conveyance allowance worth Rs 3000/- p.m to employees which is being claimed by employee as tax free allowance by showing that full amount has been expended on conveyance for official duty..
1) Is the treatment correct?Can employee do so?
2) Can both transport allowance and conveyance allowance together be given to employee .Both are different in nature.What will be the tax treatment for both.
3) Can employee be reimbursed for car running expenses of the car owned by him when he is also getting conveyance allowance which he is claiming tax free..what will be the tax treatments for both-the allowance and car exp reimbursement(a motor perk)?

1. conveyance allowance is exempt upto 800 per month only.
2. reimbursement of expenditure is cover under perquisites and will be treated accordingly.
