what is champerty and maintanence?pls explain with suitable example?pls try to elaborate, its hard to understand from book, also pls reply before 16-12-2012.

The person who is not a party to the suit. He/she helps by providing the finance for the suit expenses. In return asks for a certain % of the would be property that might come after the suit is decided by the court in favour of the person to whom finance is made available.

Both have the same intention with different shades. Where as stimulating or instigating a person for a quarrel / law suit amounts to maintenance, the actual financial help amounts to champerty
