CN issued to whom both consignor, consignee or only to whom who paid frieght

07 August 2013 Mr Dipul,

You are asking on behalf of the service provider i.e lorry contractors. Right?

Consignment note will have to be issued in favour of the party who pays the freight, ie. consignee who receives the item. In your case who paid the freight amount?

freight amount paid by consignor and he reimburse the amt. from consignee by issuing debit note. i want to know....

1) who is liable for service tax under reverse charge in the above case.
2) CN issued to only whom who paid freight?

3) then, can consignee free from service tax liablity if he is just reimburse the frieght expenses.. plz sir clarify...
