17 January 2011 While checking the company master details in MCA i come across that "under company's status : under process of striking off"

what does it means "under process of striking off"?

17 January 2011 It can be on account of either of the following:-
1) the registrar of companies might have taken suo motto action under section 560 to strike off the company's name from the register maintained by him and the proceedings are yet to complete.
2) the company might have applied to strike of the name under section 560 or under EES,2010 or EES,201I and the proceedings are yet to complete.
