Please can any one tell me how to identify a business entity as a company or a non company for deduction of TDS.

Prima facie check is-
if the name ends with pvt ltd or ltd it is company.
if the name ends with pvt ltd or ltd it is company.

check its 4th letter
if its "C" its a company
"P" Individual
"F" Firm
