whether a company is a citizen of india?

yes as per fema laws if it has place of business in india then its resident and not citizen.

As per the Citizenship Act, 1955, only natural persons can be “Citizen” and not
any juristic persons like corporations (S.T.C. v. C.T.O., AIR 1963 S.C. 1811).
And therefore, as a Company is an Artificial Person or as above said a juristic person and not a natural person, it can not get the status of citizenship of the country.
