Common seal can be made from local stamp manufacturer ?

1. Is it necessary for a pvt ltd company to make a common seal ? I am making the share certificate of the company .

2. Can we make normal round stamp from a local manufacturer, same as we make round stamp of practicing CAS (cost will be around 100-150 rupees ?

06 July 2012 Dear Friend, Common Seal is the signature of the company and generally adopted at the first board meeting. To give legal effect of any document you have to affix common seal of the company according to your Articles of Association. Thus it is necessary to have a common seal for your company. Share Certificate should also carry common seal of your company with signatures of your directors. Thanks

2. No. Common seal should be made of metal and capable of being manually operated. Ref:- Secretarial Standard -8 of ICSI.
