Closing stock showing shares which are not available

14 September 2012 If Closing stock is showing shares which are not available. The company says they are lost - were Very old amounting to Rs. 48000 - can they be written off or what should be the treatment? Pls advice.

14 September 2012 is it an investment company? if yes..... write a letterr to the concerned company and ask for the duplicate shares. How can it be written off.
