24 February 2017 HERE local CHARTED ACCOUNTANTS are telling eventhough you are claiming 1/5 of interest it includes below RS. 2,00,000 only not exceeding 2,00,000. For this I want clarification

24 February 2017 Pre-construction interest is additional deduction allowed apart from deduction of housing loan apart from two lakh 1/5 th Pre-construction interest from the year of completion 5 years.

24 February 2017 Ref section 24 deduction under HP income which is very clear.

24 February 2017 Though pre construction interest is allowed to be deducted on the basis of 1/5th each year beginning the year in which the construction is completed – the total amount that can be claimed in a year should not exceed Rs 2,00,000 in case of a self occupied house property.
