What is a chat in account or even chart?

"Chart of Account" (in short COA) means the Master Data related to General Ledger.
It is the master data at the group level. The nature, funtionality, and special features are recorded into it for controlling and monitoring purpose. Generally, it is maintained centrally.
The companies associated within group follows the feature of this "Chart of Account", with permitted ammendment, if desired.
Normally, this is meant to keep, to maintain uniformity within various units (Companies) within a group.
