CHANGE OF AOP TO FIRM IN PAN

While applying for PAN card, erroneously selected 'AOP' instead of the correct type 'Firm", and received PAN as 'AOP'; Now, can this error be corrected; or what else the alternate...

Surrender the PAN and apply for a new PAN.
