Change in the name in PAN Card

22 July 2010 Dear Sir,

I had got my PAN Card done in the year 1998-99. Being a South Indian our name is too long and it includes our Title, Father's name and my name.Now the issue all my credentials are in the short name but the PAN Card is in full name. This is severely affecting me as where ever I apply for loans or anything else they consider the name in the PAN Card and that is disturbing. Now with stringent regulations and CIBIL becoming very active, I need to change the name in the PAN card with the short name. Kindly advise.

22 July 2010 You are simply required to file form 49A for change/correction in PAN data. Along with identity proof and address proof.
Just mention your PAN no and other details and tick the box beside Name.
