Change in status of the pan

17 December 2014 Hi....

An approved gratuity fund in the nature of Co-operative society,had obtained the PAN with the status as "Company"by mistake long back. Now the status of the assessee should be changed as "Co-operative society" in the PAN.

So Pls advise me, how to resolve the above situation ???

17 December 2014 for rectification/ alteration in PAN the form 49AA be used.

Now whether the old PAN should be surrendered first ??
and pls tell me what are the legal compliances involved in it..
