WHETHER CENVAT CREDIT AVAILABLE ON STEELS, CTD BAR & CEMENT SPECIFICALLY USED FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PLATFORM FOR ERECTION OF PLANT & MACHIENERY. THIS QUESTION IS BASICALLY RELATED TO SPONGE IRON PLANT WHERE FOR ERECTION OF KILN A PLATFORM IS CREATED BY USING CTD BAR AND CEMENT.

Yes, it will be available. As it is for capital goods. Credit will be 50% for 1st year and 50% in next year. You can claim credit on 31/03/2008 and balance 50% on 1/4/2008

at the outset let me to thank you for ur submission BUT AS PER EXCISE DEPARTMENT THESE MATERIAL HAS BEEN used for civil work thus not eligible for cenvat credit. pl refer case law if any...

In the union budget 2009 clarified that cenvat credit is not available for steel and cement (Cenvat Credit on CG).
