14 February 2008 WHETHER CENVAT CREDIT AVAILABLE ON STEELS, CTD BAR & CEMENT SPECIFICALLY USED FOR CONSTRUCTION OF PLATFORM FOR ERECTION OF PLANT & MACHIENERY. THIS QUESTION IS BASICALLY RELATED TO SPONGE IRON PLANT WHERE FOR ERECTION OF KILN A PLATFORM IS CREATED BY USING CTD BAR AND CEMENT.

15 February 2008 Yes, it will be available. As it is for capital goods. Credit will be 50% for 1st year and 50% in next year. You can claim credit on 31/03/2008 and balance 50% on 1/4/2008

23 September 2009 In the union budget 2009 clarified that cenvat credit is not available for steel and cement (Cenvat Credit on CG).
