we are mfg.unit and have to pay service tax on Goods Transport by Road under Service Receipent catagory.
we pay service tax on all payments of transport bills (Freight Outwards & Inwards)above Rs.1,500/-.
can we take the credit of service tax paid?
can we take cenvat credit on all service tax paid on
-Telephone Bills,
-Professional Fees
-Clearing & Fowarding Chg.

you can take cenvat credit all except on outward cartage.
31 March 2009
Service tax on outward transportation upto the place of removal is also allowed. In case of depot sale transportation upto the depot from factory is also your input service.
