CENVAT is a scheme for the excise and service tax assessees whereby the assessees are eligible to avail the duty/service tax paid on the inputs for set off/adjusting excise duty payable for the products or output services. It is central value added tax. The eligiblity of various inputs, including capital goods,are listed in the cenvat rules. Pl refer.
