Central excise billing by a trader

02 September 2011 Sir,

We have registered as dealer in Central Excise. We purchase goods from manufacture with excise paid and we have to raise invoice with profits to a customer with cenvat credit to him. What is the procedure for preparing invoice and where we have to raise our income? Whether we have to collect the VAT on the total amount?

02 September 2011 you have to issue dealers invoice, under which you can pass on the excise duty paid by manufacturer only.

on your profit portion excise is not chargable,

vat is usual to be paid on transaction value between you and buyer.

I would like to know further that where can i find the format for central excise invoice under rule 11 of central excise rules 2002.
