what cash balance should be show in the balance sheet for small business

Its nothing specific. Actual balance should appear. But you should be careful that the cash balance should be as minimum as possible. Generally, the companies maintain the cash balance according to consumption of cash balance basically petty cash account and some amount more. So u can analyse according to your monthly cash utilisation of company.
