ACCA is equivalent to CA in India, but you cannot certify financial statements in India. India is not recognized any CA other than ICAI to ceritfy financial statements in India. However ACCA is recgonized by various countries in the world for certification fo aaccounts in thier country including all gulf countires and UK as well.
Carrer wise ACCA is one of the best qualification in finance anybody can opt for due to its international nature and the constantly updating syllabus. ACCA has various other certificate and diploma programmes which an ACCA student can pursue along the course of thier ACCA studies for eg. Diploma in IFRS. In india IFRS is going to be adopted in 2011 and no institution offers a formal training for this.
India's business going global and global accounting practices and reporting going to be in demand, where In mu opinion a qualificaiton like ACCA can contribute more than CA of India.
