my mother has gifted me her house, which she inherited by will from her father, i have the house registered in my name after paying the stamp duty, now if i sell the house in the same financial year will it be counted as long term or short term capital gain.

Mother's holding period of the property can also be taken into consideration for determining whether it is LTCG /STCG.
