26 December 2015 IF ANY LAND PURCHASED AFTER 01.04.1981, AND THEN TRANSFER TO ASSESSEE BY WILL,GIFT ,INHERITANCE.COST OF ACQUISITION FOR 1ST OWNER IS NOT AVAILABLE.IN SUCH CASE WHAT SHOULD BE COST OF ACQUISITION TO CALCULATE INDEXED COST OF ACQUISITION ?

26 December 2015 well, you have to find out the actual cost itself in this case. valuation etc won't help you and anyways, the document trail needs to be complete if you are planning to sell this land or any structure built on it. So even for selling, you need to dig out the earlier papers which should contain the cost details too.
