Can sro number be different for cpt and ipcc?

Hi Sir, May name is Jayashankar and I enrolled for my IPCC May 2016. Till date I did not received any confirmation from SIRC Chennai. When I called them yesterday about my registration letter and study material, they started giving me a different SRO number from my CPT. Now I am confused, because they are not giving proper reason for a change in my SRO number. Please suggest.

It can be different. I am a ca. My cpt regestration number was different from ipcc.
