Can same vat number be used by two concens of the same proprietor

18 December 2007 In case of a proprietorship concern suppose there are two concerns AB and CD but the proprietor is same. Vat number is alloted in the name of AB.
Can CD also use this number?

If yes please tell me the relevant extracts?

19 December 2007 You will have only one registration as proprietory concern. The registration is based on constitution like sole proprietor, Firm, company etc.
