Can i join for cpt after 3 yrs diploma in electrical engg?

After 10th, I've passed 3 yrs diploma in electrical engineering from state board of technical education, Kerala. Now, doing 1st year of Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) of Madras University in Distance education mode. So, am I eligible to join for CA-CPT course? If yes, Can I complete the entire CA course without +2?

As per my understanding completion of +2 is necessary to join CPT course.

The "Application form for registration to common proficiency course" downloaded from icai website http://220.227.161.86/7505cpt_form.pdf says diploma holders after 10th are eligible if they have joined for 1st year of graduation.
