my father has received notice from income tax dept. i attached the notice here .please said can i file return of f. y. 2012-13 now after receiving this notice. is this is notice under section 142(1) ? what is limit for issuing notice under section 142(1) ?

Yes, you can file the return of income by selecting applicable section under which the ROI is filing, to be section 142(1).
