15 November 2009 dear experts can i attain a scrutiny with the income tax officer on my clients behalf. my self a Gradutate form mumbai univesity, profession an accountant + as i have incometax knowledge i make client and file their income tax returns. plz help with sections and procedure how i can attain a scrutiny. thank yo all.

15 November 2009 I think you can attend a scrutiny as an accountant of your client. with authorization from your client.

15 November 2009 does the authorizations need to be taken on stamp paper, and if yes of wht amount.

15 November 2009 Section 288(2) of The Income tax Act,1961 speaks about authorised representative. On a reading of the said section and based on the facts given by u,as per my understanding,u cannot represent an assesee on authorisation.

16 November 2009 when your appearing as accountant then you can take authorization in client letter head only.
