I want to close Accounting year 2010-11 in Tally and to start 2011-12 with closing balances of last year to be carried forward in next year. How to do that in Tally ? and if I do that and if I change some data in last year will that automatically affect opening balance of Next year ? Pls guide. i m using Tally ERP9 version. Thanks in advance.

I'm using casio MJ 120t CALCULATOR for my commerce calculations. But i'm having trouble as how to turn off 2 decimals in fraction e.g. 8/2=4.00. I want to turn off those extra 00 after 4.. Unlike others CALCULATORs this one doesnt have those F, 0, 2, and 5/4 buttons.

v r using Tally 7 and v had continued the years in the same file eg. in one individual name say sanjay , for last 6 years accounts are there say from 2005, to 2011 . so now, when we are trying to migrate the files in to tally 9 gold we are getting error and r not able to proceed further.
" Migration is unable to reach Tally 9 Server ! Post request Failed.

pls adv whether there is any way we can migrate to tally 9 by continuing with earlier practice of one individual name with many years account in the same.

Also, what are good features in tally 9 compare to tally 7 majorly if you know.

After taking back up of datas in tally ,we are facing a problem that is
1) by pressing F-1 we are not finding all companies only three out of 6 companies are showing.
i don't no where those 3 companies missing

my tally 7.2 file had Corrupt due to power cut.
I want to know how to recover it one file is damage.

Sir,
we are 100%EOU register in STPI.
We are register in STPI for the exemption in Income Tax but in the Budget 2011 this exemption will not be applicable for the F.Y. 2011-12.
When this exemption will not be applicable then can we leave from STPI??
