Bad debts

This query is : Resolved

16 July 2014 Can a debtor be written off if it is under arbritation or under litigation for 6 years (Decision is pending of the court).
Please reply as soon as possible.

16 July 2014 ideally it should not be written off as the tax authorities may argue that unless the final arbitration award is given, it cannot be said that the debt is not recoverable.

further writting off debt may harm your position in arbitration too.
