Back of book of accounts on server located in india

27 April 2016 Dear Sir, As per Companies Act if books of accounts is in electronic form then back up of books of accounts need to be maintained on the server physically located in india if it is on the server outside india. Please let me know if a company is not able to maintain the back up on indian server then what can be the other options available to the company.

28 April 2016 you can keep the backup of your books of accounts on a cloud based server system. make sure these companies have a server in India. Google for eg uses cloud based server but they are not necessarily routed through Indian servers.

28 April 2016 We are using SAP but the same is centralized server for all the group companies and to back up for single company is not possible. Is there any issue if the company is not maintaining the backup on local server.

28 April 2016 From security perspective, one needs to have the back up LOCALLY. There are various types of back ups. I am sure you must be aware of the same. Else you can go through this

You can always ask for single company back up facility from the SAP supplier. Your views please.
