Normally advocates take authorisation from their clients for appearing before tax authorities on a 'Vakalatnama'.
My question is whether a Chartered Accountant can use 'Vakalatnama' for this purpose. If not what should be the way of taking authorisation from the client which is acceptable to tax authorities. Whether any stamp is to be affixed on that power.

CA says it "Letter of Authority" by just changing the name. Contents are almost the same and are speaking like "I (assessee) authorise to CA.... to represent my case".
* It is a pre-requisite for representing any case of the assessee before IT Authorities. * Court Fee Stamp of Rs 100/- is required to be affixed on this document. It may differ in your state.
