sir, i am to audit a partnership firm , can you please tell me the areas of auditing or document which i require from client.

As regards audit of partnership firm (registered under the Partnership Act or not) there is no requirement under the Act for any specific reporting. You can refer the ICAI's guidance notes. In case you are conducting tax audit then the requirements of the INcome Tax Act and Form 3CD will have to be specifically adhered to. You also need to check compliance with Accounting Standards issued by ICAI.
