19 June 2013 Dear Sir/ Madam,
Now a days the Shriram chits and some other bankers are also asking to get the attestation of the auditor or the consultant on the income tax returns filed.

I would just like to know that weather is there any RBI Rule to be get attested or any other.

To my opinion as the Ack from the ACIT Department can not be attested by the ITO then how can a auditor or a Consultant can attest.

Please give a clarification. Is it really mandatory to get sign. on the ACK

19 June 2013 This is a very bad trend (and threatening our professional) in financial institution. They do not want to take any responsibility whatsoever. They just want to pass on the responsibility to professional.

I have come across similar situation. I have supplied original audit report, b/s & p&l account but the manager wanted to certified the photocopy of the same even the photocopy is done by himself. Instead of Writing "verify with original document and find in tune of original document" he just wants to pass on the responsibility to professional.

In another situation, a financial institution asked a certificate for CA stating that the OD will be used only for business purpose not for other purpose. How came a professional will certify the intention of his client.

Thank Q for sharing your feelings.
I have rejected 2-3 clients who came for attestation, and now the limit has been crossed.
Now the Clint says if you sign the ACK then he gets the loan or chit amount if not he is not getting, taking this as a reason he is threatening that he will leave the auditor if he is not signing the ACK.

Reg. this i have already inquired in the TAX BAR Association they said it is not compulsory but as they also faced the same they are signing the ACK.

if all of them stand on a single word and raise this issue or at-least stop signing or opposing to Sign on ACK then this can be stopped.

The Clint says that if other auditor is signing then why cant you sign.

What Should i do now ???

20 June 2013 Just try to douse the situation by clever means such as you can say "ACK is govt. document so we can not attest the same plz go to notory with original who will attest the documents as they are authorized to attest the govt documents.etc etc

As you know financial institutions are full of idiots, they will never trouble you again.
