One of my friend's father expired last year. At the time of father's ill health, he had to take leave which extended and resulted in excess leaves. Is he eligible to appear in Final examination in spite of excess leaves. He is really very tensed as this is going to result him a loss of six months which can not at all be recovered.

As you told, its a matter of last year. Remedial action should have been taken at that time only. Its not possible to convince the ICAI authorities after one year passed. At that time only, a request to CA (Employer) or ICAI could have been made.
