05 August 2014 DEAR EXPERTS,

I HV FILLED A RETURN WITH TAX OF RS 740 ON 31-3-14 FOR A.Y.12-13 AND PAID ON SAME DAY AND TODAY I GOT AN ASS. ORDER UNDER 143(1) WITH DEMAND OF RS.740 BECAUSE AS PER ORDER IT IS SHOWING "UNMATCHED TAX PAYMENT CLAIMS" OF RS.740 WITH THE CHALLAN NO. & BSR CODE WHICH I HAVE PROVIDED IN RETURN

AND EVEN NOW THE PAYMENT FOR SELF ASS.TAX IS SHOWING IN 26AS SO

HOW CAN I CLAIM IT AND RECTIFY THIS DEMAND ??

05 August 2014 you need to now file a rectification request under sec 154 and ao will then change it and resolve this issue.

As i never filled a rectification return so i dont knw mch about it..

and as per above case wht shoud i rectify as i have nothing to rectify ..i have proof of tax paid challan only //

??

05 August 2014 you log on to income tax website and then on left side there is option of rerectification request or refer this link for more details:
