One of my client has filed IT Return For A.Y.2011-12 Online during June-2011, and posted the copy of Form V duly singed on the same day, the dept has sent receipt of the same by mail.
For that ITR assessment is pending and due refund is yet to receive by client.
Few days ago he asked on toll free line regarding his ITR, in reply the dept told he has to wait for some period, they have not told specific period
In that case, what to do, to whom complain is required to be made, is there any email id to whom we can complain,

Many people have experienced that the toll free line is not at all useful in case of refunds. The IT Act does not specify any period within which refund has to be issued. Sec 244A only entitles the assessee to receive interest after 1Apr of the AY.
The best course of action for you would be to follow up the matter with the jurisdictional AO. Write to him few times. If he does not respond, you can approach the IT ombudsman at Aayakar Bhavan in your city.
