I have just appeared for IPCC
I am confused between which to opt: Big FOUR or a MID SIZE firm
I am a student of JK shah Classes , Mumbai.. And they have started an AOPP program ( i.e ARTICLESHIP ORIENTATION AND PLACEMENT PROGRAM) ..where for campus interview both big four and mid size will come.. so getting in any of it is not a problem
I am just confused which to opt.. Because
Mid size : Knowledge of all dept but not so career worthy
Big FOUR : Career worthy but knowledge in any one dept
Suggest pros and cons of each and please tell me which to opt

04 July 2012 U shud obviously go for Big Four firms coz if u wl go for job or practice. U wl be assigned the designation in one dept n u wl be expert in dat. N if u want to get knowledge of various depts. it wl not be beneficial for you coz then in corporate u wl be assigned various depts of work in single pay and u wl have average knowledge of every dept. This wil not enhance your career growth...coz for career growth u must be expert in a field. And its upto you now dat whom you prioritize ur career growth or avg. knowledge of all depts.
