Articleship status

Hello I've send my Articleship Registration form for at the chennai office on 1st March, 2014, but still I've not got any confirmation from the institute regarding its status. Can anyone tell me within how many days generally they will send the confirmation letter and how to check the same.

Generally it takes more than one month time to send communication from ICAI. However at the below patch with the help of your employer's membership number and his date of birth you can trace is your articleship updated by icai or not as on today.
www.icai.org-members(available at the bottom of the page)-trace a member.
If the ICAI has registered your articleship then your name shall be display at your member's profile which is available at above provided patch
instead of it you can post your query at e-sahayataa then ICAI will respond you with the status of your articleship registration.
Since some days the member's directory(means the patch i said above) not opening, i think it may be under up gradation.So if it is opened to you then okay otherwise better to post query at e-sahayaataa, however you need not to worry about it.
