I am doing my articleship in Co. for 4Month and now I want to take transfer.
So,do I require to inform my existing principal?
If yes, then in what time period?

obviously until u get the documents signed from ex employer u cant take transfer dear.........

Do I require to give 1 month prior notice to principal ?

you have to file form 109 form for tfr and then 108 for new principal.
