Can a director of a Pvt vo. be appointed in the EGM. What are the formalities in the board meeting and EGM in this regard.

Yes.
You can directly appoint a person as regular director without first appointing his as additional director.
Hold a BM and propose a resolution for the appointment of director, approve the notice of EGM.
In the EGM pass the required resolution and file form-32 with in 30 days of passing resolution in the EGM.
