Appointing director in a company

14 April 2012 One person met me six months ago and said me that he will join me in a good company as a supervisor?

At that time he has taken ,my one photograph, pan card, and a cheque of a bank account(that account is not in operation). He has not given me any job, but i have came to know that he has appointed me in a company as director. I have checked from mca website, but any DIN number is not allotted on my name?

How can i check that he has appointed me as a director in any company?

How can I prevent or cancel my post as director from that company?

Which authorities ( from MCA or other govt authorities)I can contact for this?

14 April 2012 No need to worry. Without the allotment of DIN number no one can appoint you as director in any company.

Simply passing the board resolution for appointment is not enough. To be appointed as director allotment of DIN and filing of form 32 with ROC is a must. Form 32 can not be filed without DIN number.

So just relax.

14 April 2012 Agree with expert. For appointing u as a director, he should obtain a written consent from u. Else, the appointment will not be valid.

15 April 2012 Hi,

First of all how you know that you have appointed as director in a company. Then you can check whether DIN has alloted to you or you have appointed as director in a company through log into MCA portal and use the "Companies in which a person is/was a director" in the services tab and you enter your name as appear in the PAN details to search your DIN if alloted and the directorship in a company.
