Can you pls give me a list of all laws applicable to a company that purchases pulses in bulk from kisan mandi & sells it to dealers.

02 May 2008 the question is very vast. However, my answer is in general as you have not mentioned the state where you planning your opertations. There will change from one state to another as Agriculture is a state subject.

You will need to study
Agricultural Produce Marketting Committee Rules and Regulations.
Local VAT Act
In Karnataka, pulses are not covered by Kar. Agriculture income tax act, but elsewhere it may attract tax, so agriculture income tax act.

Income tax
VAT/sales tax,
service tax(for transporters)
Company law
export import laws
Mandi rules

We operate in MAdhya Pradesh & Maharashtra.

Are there any laws which we are missing on?
