17 June 2013 Kindly tell me whether grant given by a society ( Not a tax free entity) to another society( Not a tax free entity)is covered under service tax?
since receiving society is spending that money for the stated purpose,of first mentioned society.
whether it is giving service to first mention society ?

18 June 2013 Services Provided by one society to another society is taxable, only Housing Co-operative societies providing service to their members up to rs. 5000/- per month per member is exempt, exceeding which the society will come into service tax net.
