08 December 2012 My Question is:-
ESI is to be Calculated on Gross Salary.
What Gross Salary Means ?
Is This Include Total CTC (Because CTC Include Employer Contribution of ESI), so we ned to make Back Calculation.

For ESI Gross Salary Means Basic + All allowances which company pays on regular basis to all employees.

Thus It is sum of all components paid to employees also it includes variable pay components like incentive & performance bonus paid on monthly basis.

Gross Salary does not include Statutory Bonus, Leave Encashment, Gratuity and all other allowances which is paid quarterly.
