why the reserves are not taken while calculating the net asset value(n.a.v)on fair value of the assets.

Fair value method means all the assets & liabilities are required to be shown at there value at which they will realize. Fair value means Face value plus accumulated profit. Because reserve in long term represent the value of a share so while calculating the NAV we are not considered reserve
